Ninety years of asking what a patient needs. We are now also a company that asks what the country needs, and we regard the second question as an extension of the first rather than a departure from it.
Halleran–Voss was incorporated in 1946 as a manufacturer of sedative and antihistamine preparations for the domestic market, and has been a subsidiary of Civic Chemical since 1971. For most of that history the company served physicians. It now serves physicians and the institutions that employ them.
On 25 August 2036 the company entered a long-term partnership with the Office of Domestic Compliance — the first agreement of its kind between an American manufacturer and a federal agency of public order. One supply chain now runs from our laboratories to the Office’s field operations.
Much of what the Office now manages is behavioural rather than criminal. We believe those limits are, in substantial part, a medical problem, and therefore ours to address. The category comprises compounds intended to relieve the distress that accompanies civic friction — in the individual and in the community — without recourse to confinement.
Not every indication is answered by a compound. Our devices division supplies SYNCORE, a cortical pacing implant fitted at employer request for pace deficit in retained staff following automation of adjacent functions. The implant does not increase capability. It suppresses the signal that work has been completed, which in the great majority of wearers is sufficient. The device is not removable; this is the basis of the productivity guarantee.
Halleran–Voss is a founding underwriter of the Continuity Caucus, a new direction for the party of order. The company does not take positions on legislation. It supports the conditions under which legislation can be enacted without interruption.
Preparations in the adherence category are authorised by the Office under Class II civic supply and are not subject to the ordinary retail approval pathway. Availability varies by class. Several preparations are supplied only to contracted authorities, and are not available by prescription.
Our obligation is to the public interest, and the public interest is expressed through its institutions.
